The sixth Midwest Security Workshop (MSW) will be hosted at UIUC on April 14, 2018. MSW is an informal forum that promotes interaction between security and privacy researchers in the Midwest. It provides an opportunity for faculty or students to present research-in-progress and receive feedback. Note that the work submitted to the workshop will NOT be formally peer-reviewed, and the workshop is not an archival venue. Instead, submissions will be lightly reviewed for relevance to the workshop and selected directly by the organizing committee. There will be no proceedings of the workshop, so you should not be precluded from submitting this work to peer-reviewed venues for subsequent publication. We encourage work in progress or work published recently.

The program is designed primarily to promote discussion among attendees. As such, we are soliciting submissions in the following three categories:

1) Poster presentations (Students and postdocs)
Students at any level and postdocs may present posters of research-in-progress or work published recently. The deadline for registering posters was March 14th. Selections will be made by the organizing committee and notifications will be sent by March 30, 2018. The recommended poster size is 30"x40", but we will be flexible. We will provide easels, tacks, and 30"x40" posterboard. You must bring your own poster.

2) Hot topics panel (Faculty and postdocs)
Faculty members may offer to join our panel discussion on privacy-enhancing technologies (broadly defined). To volunteer, please send an email to midwestsec6@gmail.com with the subject "Hot Topics Panel" by March 14, 2018 indicating your interest. Selections will be made by the organizing committee and notifications will be sent by March 30, 2018.

3) Leaders for break-out sessions (Faculty and postdocs)
Faculty members or advanced (post-proposal) PhD students may offer to lead one of the break-out discussion sessions. Leaders will give a 5-minute lightning talk about recent results (from anyone) related to the topic of the discussion session. They will then lead a 75-minute discussion with up to 15 participants. To volunteer, please send an email to midwestsec6@gmail.com with the subject "Discussion Leader" by March 14, 2018 indicating your interest, including the topics for which you could lead a break-out session. Selections will be made by the organizing committee and notifications will be sent by March 30, 2018.
